Greg has always wanted to own his own business, and when he heard The Canine
Club was for sale he jumped at the chance. He is very excited at the potential
for growth, and the real service offered to dogs and their people by The Canine
Club. Greg arrived in Reno in October, 2004 from Anchorage, Alaska, where he
spent nearly ten years as a volunteer at Alyeska Canine Trainers (ACT), the
largest dog training facility in Alaska. While there, he taught classes from
New Puppy through Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Prep, and Agility level I & II
classes. He also mentored several ACT Members from assistants to trainers in
their own right.
Along with his wife, Robin, Greg also spearheaded the annual Fur Rondy Mutt
Show. The Mutt Show was an event for the public to show off their own dogs. For
the last two years Greg organized the club’s bimonthly CGC tests. Greg is a
member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), as well as a Certified
Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT) and a certified American Kennel Club-Canine Good Citizen
evaluator. Greg and Robin are owned by four dogs and three cats, most of whom
are rescues. Greg plans on being even more involved in the Northern Nevada
canine community than he was in Anchorage, and is thrilled to be working at The
Canine Club!

Robin came to Reno from Anchorage, Alaska to follow her dream of training dogs
for a living. During the last 10 years Robin was a volunteer at Alyeska Canine
Trainers, where she taught several classes including Puppy, Older Puppy, Adult
Beginner and other special topics. She is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT)
through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). Robin is also a certified
AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and assisted with the bimonthly CGC tests
offered at Alyeska Canine Trainers. She helped produce the Fur Rendezvous Mutt
show, working with Greg on the organization, and as emcee for the annual event.
Robin also served as the unofficial emcee for all Alyeska Canine Trainers
public events, where she used her knowledge of dogs and her performing
background to inform and educate people about dogs while having lots of fun.
Robin also worked with Anchorage Unleashed to bring off- leash dog parks to the
municipality, and was a member of Friends of Pets, an organization dedicated to
pet rescue. Robin’s love of dogs goes back to her mother, who from a young age
fostered in Robin the desire to work with dogs. Robin regards dog training as a
vocation, a way to help people realize that all dogs can be good dogs. She is
excited to be involved in the growth of the training program of The Canine
Club.

Their friends in Alaska thought Greg and Robin had lost their heads when they
started talking about giving up the good life in the Land Of The Midnight Sun
and moving to the Biggest Little City. They may be out of their heads,
but they're having fun!!
